- COVID-19 Event Participant Policy

Our sanctioning body, the USA Track and Field Association, requires us to take certain precautions to validate and insure our event. Furthermore, your help in meeting these standards is essential to keep our event safe and to insure we can continue to hold more in-person events in the near future.

1. We will send a survey the evening prior to the event to:

- Confirm (self-reporting) no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in past 7 days (OR at least 7 days from onset of any COVID-19 infection signs or symptoms AND at least 72 hours since signs / symptoms have resolved).
- Confirm no close sustained contact with anyone who is sick within 14 days of the event.
- Confirm no travel within 14 days of the event to an international location with widespread ongoing COVID-19 transmission as determined by the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/map-and-travel-notices.html) or travel on a cruise ship or river boat.
- Those who cannot confirm the above must not attend our in-person event. For this reason we are committed to being flexible with transfers to the virtual event, deferments, and refunds.

2. Competitors who have had a documented case of COVID-19 must have written letter from physician indicating they are cleared to compete.

3. A brief, contactless temperature check will be performed upon entering the starting corral on event day to confirm a temperature of less than 100.4F (38.0 C).

4. It is strongly recommended that individuals considered by the CDC to be “at-risk” not participate in the sanctioned event in any capacity.  This would include:

- Individuals over the age of 65
- Individuals who live in nursing homes
- Individuals with underlying medical conditions, noted by the CDC, which place them at higher risk, such as chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, diabetes, serious heart conditions, severe obesity, chronic kidney or liver disease, and individuals who are immunocompromised or live with someone who is immunocompromised.
- If these “at-risk” individuals choose to participate, it is recommended that they get clearance from their healthcare provider.

- Social Distancing

We submitted a comprehensive COVID-19 mitigation plan to the MOA Parks and Recreation to have our permit approved. There are two things that you, our participants, can do to help us maintain compliance and help us host more of these events in the future.

1. Wear a mask anytime when not actively exercising at our event. Wear a mask that you can pull up when passing participants closely during the event.

2. Maintain appropriate social distance between yourself and non-household members or others outside your close social group.

- Hang out in or near your car before your event start
- Keep your distance from other while warming up or waiting near the start/finish area
- Respect announcements and instructions during the event
- During the wave starts, please avoid the event route while warming up
- After your event, grab your finisher prizes, maintain social distance, and depart the finish area as soon as you can.
- We ask that you DO NOT arrive to the immediate start area more than 10 minutes before your wave start. If you arrive early, we ask that you stay in or near your vehicle unless warming up, until 10 minutes before your start.

Thank you so much for your cooperation!
