Description

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to run the racetrack at the world-renowned Barber Motorsports Park? Well, now you can! Experience the 17-turn road course like never before at The INDY 5K presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama, on May 2nd at the Barber Motorsports Park. Race participation includes Friday General Admission to the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.

If you plan to register on-site: Registration will be Cashless (Credit Card only), please plan to register before arriving to speed up the packet pickup process. 

Race Day Registration & Packet Pick Up:
For those who are not able to attend pre-race registration and packet pick up, this will begin promptly at 10:30am on Friday, May 2nd in Lot E.

NOTE: You will need to bring a valid State-issued ID (driver's license) to receive an age 21+ wristband in the Post-Race hospitality tent. The 21+ wristband is required to receive age 21+ beverages. 

NOTE: 5K Participants should be checked in with bib number in hand by 5:00 pm. There will be a short walk to the start line on the track (Turn 10) from the registration area. Please plan for ample time to arrive at Barber Motorsports Park in Lot E.  ALL 5K Participants must check in Friday at the Registration tent to sign a waiver, and be provided a wristband to run on the racetrack on Friday. All Indy 5K participants must show their PRINTED registration confirmation at the gate to enter and park in Lot E.

Race Day Parking:  Barber Motorsports Park Map

  • Parking will be available onsite in Lot E. Please be sure to show your printed Indy 5K registration to enter and park in Lot E.
  • Upon entering Barber Motorsports Park turn left at the "T" intersection by the Museum. At the gate, show your printed  Indy 5K registration for entry to Barber Motorsports Park and the INDY 5K.
  • Packet Pick up & Registration will be in Lot E  [Click Here].  


Pet Policy
Pets are NOT allowed at Barber Motorsports Park.

Race Day Agenda:
Friday, May 2, 2024 NOTE: State-issued ID is Required to receive a wristband for 21+ beverages at the post-race hospitality tent. 
10:30am – Registration Opens @ Barber Motorsports Park - Lot E  [Click Here] Be sure to get your wristband to run on the race track.
5:00pm – 5K Registration Closes
5:15pm – Short walk to the Start Line  
5:30pm – 5K Start
6:00 - 7:00pm – Indy 5K Post-Race Party - Bring your ID for 21+ Wristband
6:30 pm – 5K Awards & Draw Prizes

5K Awards:
5K Male and Female Awards – Overall and Age Group Awards will not be duplicated.
Fleet Feet is going to be giving gift cards to the top 3 in each age division as well as top overall male/female

Water Stop Stations:
Water stop locations will be at the start line, finish line, and halfway mark on the 5K.

Strollers at the Race: If you are participating with a stroller and/or children, we ask that you keep your children with you at all times and that you start from the back of the starting line. This will allow your family members, and our other participants, a safer race experience.

Cancellation Statement:
Your entry fee is non-refundable. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Children's of Alabama.

Transfer of Registration Policy:
Your entry fee is non-refundable. Participants can transfer their online registration (Online Only) until April 28, 2025. After April 28, 2025, registrations are non-transferable. [Click Here] to learn more about how to transfer your registration.

Waiver forms:
All 5K Participants must sign a Waiver form in order to receive a wristband to be on the track.  Only registered 5K participants will be allowed on the track.
Waivers will need to be signed at packet pickup.
Participants over 21 will also receive an additional wristband for adult beverages that will be available. State-issued ID is required to receive a wristband for 21+ beverages at the post-race hospitality tent.

Children’s of Alabama
Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children. Ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s serves patients from every county in Alabama and nearly every state. With more than 3.5 million square feet, it is one of the largest pediatric medical facilities in the United States. Children’s offers inpatient and outpatient services at its Russell Campus on Birmingham’s historic Southside with additional specialty services provided at Children’s South, Children’s on 3rd and in Huntsville and Montgomery. Primary medical care is provided in more than a dozen communities across central Alabama. Children’s is the only health system in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. It is a private, not-for-profit medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) pediatric medicine, surgery, psychiatry, research and residency programs. The medical staff consists of UAB faculty and Children’s full-time physicians as well as private practicing community physicians.
