Running for Africa

Archangel Group International was founded by, Jonathan Macklin, an American Law Enforcement Officer. The organization is based in Decatur but currently operates in the nation of Zambia, Africa. The organization was founded to assist the people in poverty of Zambia and to provide them with the following financial and physical resources: Religious works, humanitarian aid, suitable housing, digging of borewells for fresh drinking water, healthcare, and rescuing orphans.  

Due to the levels of poverty in Zambia, this has caused many children to be abandoned to fend for themselves and become orphans. This issue has also caused many children to become the victims of human trafficking. The founder has already formed a personal relationship with the Zambia Police, and he will ultimately take his law enforcement experience to the country. The founder will be bringing additional resources from the United States to train the police and to assist them with combating human trafficking.  

Please join us as we raise money to assist God's children that live in Zambia. All the proceeds are going towards our missions.

Early registration for the 5K Run ends on November 12th, at 12:00am. Everyone that registers early for the 5K gets a T-shirt. They will also receive a bag with goodies from our sponsors.  

Packet pickup will be on Friday, December 1st, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Jack Allen Soccer Complex. Packet pickup will also be on Raceday, Saturday, December 2nd, at Jack Allen Soccer Complex starting at 6:30am.  

The 5K Race will begin at 8AM 

The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 9am  

Trophies will be awarded to the Overall male and female runners and to the Masters (40+) male and female runners for the 5K race at the awards ceremony immediately after the 1-mile fun run.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals will be awarded for the following male and female age categories. (5k Race Only) 

• 0-9 years old 
• 10-14 years old 
• 15-19 years old 
• 20-29 years old
• 30-39 years old
• 40-49 years old
• 50-59-years old
• 60-69 years old 
• 70+
