BOOK IT in Alabama's Literary Capital

Monroeville Main Street is excited to host our 3rd Annual BOOK IT 5K Run/Walk on May 10, 2025, in Alabama’s Literary Capital. The BOOK IT race will include a special costume contest(optional) for the best Literary Character costume (extra points if the character is from a Monroe County or Alabama author’s work). Participants will compete for unique awards and everyone is invited to stay for games, art, music, and storytelling at our Second Saturday on the Square event.

Come early or make a weekend of your visit to Alabama's Literary Capital.  We have beautiful shops, great restaurants, and our downtown is filled with unique murals.
