Description
Mental illness has such a wide spread effect that nearly all of us either have personal experience or know someone who has struggled with their mental health. That is why we at Alpha Omicron Pi are working with the Marrs Family and CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) to spread the message that it's okay to not be okay. Mental illness, regardless of specific diagnosis, is as serious as any physical illness. 45% of college students suffer from some form of mental illness that sometimes results in loss. We at AOII have experienced the loss of our sister, Lane Marrs. This spurred us to partner with CAPS to help provide resources to our fellow students. We want everyone to know that they are so loved and that they are not alone.
Please join Alpha Omicron Pi and the Marrs Family as we support mental health awareness on The University of Arkansas campus through the Lane Marrs 5k. Run/walk with us to raise funding to assist CAPS in educating and assisting those who are fighting this daily battle.
The race will be in-person this year for the first time in two years. Check-in starts at 8:30 AM, and kick off will be in the morning at 9AM, run or walk at your own pace!
