We are excited to be holding this event again! Come train for the upcoming Onyx race by getting a small taste of some elements of the event. We will run laps around the Treasure Loop trail for 2 hours. (About 700 feet of gain each loop). Every other lap will be a heavy sandbag carry loop. This will be a fun, low-key(ish) morning event where all athlete types can come and enjoy a great training session.
All equipment, water, and nutrition will be provided. There will not be any official chip timing, but in the spirit of fun competition, we will be giving some simple awards to the top male and female who run the most loops in the given time.
Final details for parking and where to meet will be sent out the week of the training event via email. This is essentially a glorified group run, so please plan on no additional restrooms on site other than the ones provided by the park. We will be meeting at the Cholla Ramada (second left after entering the park).
All registrants receive aid station food, free supplements from Sponsors, and some DBE stickers.
Sandbag weights: 45 lbs for men, 35 lbs for women
Please note: entry fee into Lost Dutchman State Park is not included. All participants will need to pay for entry ($10) or present an Arizona State Parks pass. Parking is limited. Please be courteous to those out hiking the trails.
