Description

We are excited to bring the Island running festival back after a 3 year break. All events will still begin and end on the historic and transformed Alameda Point, with a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon that will utilize many of the new trails that have opened up since the last event.

The entire festival will take place on the beautiful grass area across from City Hall West, located at 950 West Mall Avenue. We will be bringing back the vendor booths, entertainment, runner awards 3 deep in each age group and the best post race beer selection with pouring from all the local breweries.

As with all of our events, a portion of our registrations and sponsorships will be donated to two great Alameda charities. Alameda Meals on Wheels and Alameda Education Foundation. you can read more about them from our direct links below:

Race Timing and Restrictions:

the Island Running Festival is a chip-timed event.  Participants can run, jog or walk the entire course.
Jogging strollers are permitted but are asked to start in the back of the pack.  Wheelchair athletes are permitted but due to safety concerns and street closure restrictions cannot travel faster than the fastest runner.   No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed. Dogs are not allowed on our race courses.  We love dogs, but there are those who are not so comfortable around them and there are also dogs that are uncomfortable around hundreds of other people, therefore NO DOGS ALLOWED on the course or at the finish line.

Volunteers:
We can always use volunteers and it takes the support or our community and friends to make these events successful. if you are interested in learning more visit our website and volunteer support page
