Do to COVID-19 we are forced to make the 2020 Almond Bowl a virtual race. We will be working hard in the coming weeks as we transition this race from road to virtual.

Important COVID-19 Information:
Due to ever changing dates or reopen and conditions of the current virus in our area there is a possibility that our race will become a virtual race. If that is the case the decision will be made by August 30th. There will be no price increase for the race if it goes virtual. We will have more information about the race if a change is to happen in August. Thank you for your understanding and lets all keep are fingers crossed that we can continue this Chico tradition as planned!

Join us on Sunday, November 1st for the 46th Annual Almond Bowl! Keeping with the Chico tradition and returning to the 5k and 10k distances in lower Bidwell Park!
*Please note that registration for kids under 10 does NOT include a shirt. Shirts will be available for purchase ($15) after the race while supplies last.

COURSE CERTIFICATION AND MAPS
5K and 10K: Flat, fast loop through beautiful lower Bidwell Park. Course is free of traffic.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
To the course:
Enter Chico via Highway 99 either from the north or from the south. If you are coming from the north on 99, take the Highway 32 offramp and turn right at the first intersection. If you are coming from the south on 99, take the Highway 32 offramp and turn left at the second intersection. Now you're heading west on 32 (East 8th St). From here. If coming from north 99 take the highway 32 exit and turn right onto 8th st.
Take 8th St just under a half-mile, then turn right on Sycamore St.
Sycamore St runs a few blocks into Woodland Ave, which runs parallel to the park. The park itself will be closed to vehicle traffic on race day, so find a parking spot on or near Woodland Ave. Please be courteous and park legally. Do not park in a way that blocks local residents' entry to or exit from their homes.
There are several entrances to the One Mile Recreation Area from Woodland Ave. For race-day packet pickup, look for the sign marked Pre-Registered. For any other assistance, make your way to the Information booth.
Avoid race day crowds by visiting Fleet Feet the Saturday before the race:

You can pick up your race number, information, and official Almond Bowl race shirt (if registered by cut-off or if supply is still available). October 30th is the last opportunity to register for the race at Fleet Feet. Registration on that day must be done in person or online (closes at 6:15pm).
Or pick up your packet on race day, November 3rd, at Bidwell Park.
Packets available prior to race between 6:45 and 7:45 a.m. You must be registered to pick up your packet as there is no race-day registration.
AID STATIONS, TIMING, AND FINISH LINE
Water and Nuun will be available at aid stations along the course.
Finish line closes at 10:30 a.m. Official times cannot be guaranteed for those who finish later.
DOGS AND STROLLERS
Please bring dogs and kid strollers only to cheer you on from the side of the course. Our race insurance policy prohibits dogs and strollers from the course itself.
T-SHIRTS AND AWARDS
Poly blend shirts from Upper Park Clothing Co. will be provided to all participants registered by October 16th, 2020. Additional shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on race day morning (after the start of the race) for exchange in size, for anyone who registered on October 17th or later, or for purchase. *sizes based on availability.
All shirts come in adult male sizes, so you may wish to choose a smaller size than normal for female and child runners.
**PLEASE NOTE: All Almond Bowl shirts will only be held until the start of the race on Sunday, November 1st, 2020. After that, all remaining shirts will be available to race participants wishing to exchange for a different size, or who registered after the October 16th shirt deadline and inquire about available shirts, or for purchase.**
Awards ceremony will be held near the finish line after races are concluded. Awards will be issued to male and female first place winners in the 5K and 10k runs, and three deep in each age division.
There are several spots along the course where friends and family can cheer for the runners. Here are some spots with parking and easy access:
Cedar Grove next to the permanent bathrooms
1 Mile by the pool on the Vallombrosa side
Finish line - on the softball field just off South Park Drive
