Almond Blossom Run 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Almond Blossom Run!!

Durham Sports Boosters is excited to announce that 41st Annual Almond Blossom Run will be held Sunday, February 12, 2023. We are not just another run in the park... Please join us in Durham for a beautiful Sunday morning run around the almond orchards with the trees in full bloom to see how special this race really is! As in past years, this event will include a 5K and 10K run with chip timing provided by Under the Sun Events. 

In 2023, you have three options to enjoy our event:

• A live, in-person event with waves every 5 minutes based on your registration level

• A virtual event on our official course at your convenience-anytime between February 3 and February 11

• A virtual, make-your-own course, anytime between February 3 and February 11 

In-person participants (with data submitted via RunJoy, etc.) are eligible for top male and female finisher awards. Winners in both the 5K and 10K events will receive a gift certificate for a pair of running shoes from Fleet Feet in Chico. Smaller prizes will be awarded for each age division as well.

Participants in the virtual event will receive instructions after January 24th on how to submit virtual times, but will not be eligible for prizes.

Registration is still a deal at just $40 (in-person and virtual) through race day. Participants may choose from a long-sleeved, technical or short-sleeved, poly-cotton blend shirt upon registration, but be sure to register early-only 450 shirts in limited sizes and styles have been ordered. Please note: For those participating in the virtual race, there will be a $10 shipping fee for those wanting a shirt.  

Sponsors are a critical partner in this event and allow us to continue our financial support of our athletic programs in Durham. The 2023 event proceeds will benefit student athletic teams at both Durham Intermediate School and Durham High School. Durham Sports Boosters is currently seeking funds to support training courses for coaches and to purchase new equipment to revamp our weight room facilities for a new weight-training and conditioning high school course.
