Step into the spooky season with the Frightful Finish Line, a Halloween-themed race like no other! Whether you’re running the 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon, this event will have you sprinting towards an eerie and festive finish line filled with Halloween thrills and chills. Perfect for runners of all abilities, this race is your chance to combine fitness with frightful fun.
Bib Pick-Up and Start Times
OPEN: 6:15 AM - 7:35 AM
Location: Race Ready Athletics Tent near the start line
Start Times:
Half Marathon: 7:00 AM
5K & 10K: 7:30 AM
Parking Information
Street parking is available, but please read signs carefully to avoid restrictions like street sweeping. For convenience, park in the paid lot near the start line. Fees range from $10 to $12, and payment can be made at the machine near the entrance if the attendant is unavailable.

From Start Line to Finish Vibes
Our courses are open-pathway routes — meaning they’re held on pedestrian-friendly trails like beach paths, park loops, and river trails. They’re car-free, safe, and full of good energy. Whether you're racing for a PR or strolling in costume, you'll be on a scenic route with no traffic to worry about.
👟 Because these are shared public spaces, you may pass by other walkers, joggers, or casual strollers who didn’t sign up — but that’s part of the CaliFlow charm. Just stay aware and respectful of those around you.
🎧 Pro tip: Save the Metallica for your post-race drive. Please keep the volume low enough to hear voices and instructions around you.
Long Beach Route
Course Overview 🏃♀️🌊
5K & 10K Course:

Both 5K and 10K runners will head out to the pink flag located at mile 1.55.

The turnaround will be clearly marked with:

A “5K / 10K Turn” sign

A 7-foot pink flag for visibility
-

5K runners will make the turn and return directly to the start/finish line.

10K runners will complete two loops of the 5K course before finishing through the same start/finish line.
Half Marathon Course:

Half marathoners will head out 2.19 miles to the yellow flag at the Half Marathon Turnaround.

A water station will be located at the turnaround.

Runners will complete three identical out-and-back loops for a total distance of 13.10 miles.
On-Course Water Stations:

Half Marathon Turnaround – at the yellow flag (mile 2.19)

Belmont Pier – positioned mid-course for convenient access

CaliFlow Runs Tent – at the start/finish area where looped runners will make their turn before heading back out on the course
