Description

The Rest. Resist. Run. Rise. campaign is a collaborative initiative between A Sista’s Touch (AST) and DNPs of Color (DOC), designed to raise awareness, increase community engagement, and secure donations in support of AST’s programming focused on protecting, empowering, and celebrating Black women and girls.

Serving as the culminating activity for the DOC 5th Annual Conference, the Virtual 5K will be hosted on Sunday, October 19, and is open to the entire community. The campaign unites the themes of rest, resistance, physical movement, and social uplift—centering holistic wellness and systemic change.

DNPs of Color (DOCs), is a 501c3 nonprofit nursing organization, whose mission is to increase diversity in doctoral studies, clinical practice, and leadership for nurses. DNP, short for Doctor of Nursing Practice, is the highest level of education a nurse can attain, which focuses on clinical practice. DNPs influence healthcare outcomes through healthcare policy, organizational leadership, and translating nursing research into evidence-based practice.

The DNPs of Color 5th Annual Conference will be hosted on October 16th-19th in Oakland, California, the first time on the West Coast. This event is your opportunity to connect, learn, and lead in a community dedicated to advancing diversity in nursing.

A Sista’s Touch is a tax-exempt (501c3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, whose mission is to cultivate and celebrate Black Excellence through the personal inspirations of African American women, with a foundational focus on OUR adolescent girls. The aim of A Sista’s Touch is threefold: To Edify, Elevate, and Celebrate Excellence.
