7th Annual We Run Richmond 5K

Hurray! Registration is now open for the 7th Annual We Run Richmond 5K! That's right, it’s the 7th year already! And while the last details are still being finalized here is what we know.

The price of registration will gradually increase closer to the date of the event, so don’t wait, sign up today and save! (This is a fundraiser event, so you are welcome to donate if running/walking a 5k isn't your thing. But we're pretty sure you'd love the event if you give it a try.)

In past years, many 5K participants have taken it upon themselves to dress up in costumes, helping to make the 5K event a fun and festive celebration. Well...WE LOVE IT! And want to encourage it. So mark your calendars and start planning your wardrobe, this could mean you wear a tutu, or dress as your favorite superhero, but get creative and you may win a PRIZE!

As always, we’re aiming to make this our best 5K to date! This year’s event will include a virtual option, in-person option, and a new addition the kids sprint for youth of walking age up to 12 years old!

With the virtual option, if you can not make it to the event in person for whatever reason, you can run/walk where you are and support the cause remotely!

Our annual 5K will take place in-person on August 5th at 10 am. The run will start at approximately 10:15am. T-shirt pick-up will be available the morning of the event beginning at 8:30am, as well as during a designated t-shirt pick-up day (time/day TBA), at the end of July.

Each 5K registrant will receive the official race day T-shirt and finisher’s medal(designs will be announced soon). We’re going to do our best to be intentional with our design and make sure it represents Richmond with pride and purpose.

The goal of this year’s 5k event is to raise $50,000! And we will not reach this goal without your support! Money raised from this event will support all Moving Forward projects including the Moving Forward Scholarship Program and School Supply Giveaway.
