Get out your best sombrero, zapatos, and mark your calendars for Saturday, May 4th, 2019, 8:00AM for the 2nd Annual “Fiesta 5K Ole” Fun Run. Join the festivities and celebrate with us as we take you on a 5K run/walk around Downtown Visalia to support the Visalia Emergency Aid Food Pantry. This is a family-friendly event appropriate for all ages and this will be a day of fun, exercise, music, food, and drinks!

Whether running or supporting a runner, everyone is welcome to celebrate running, food, and community.

FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!

The race will fund your local food pantry where over 1,100 families receive supplemental groceries each month. Our firm belief that no child should go to bed hungry and no parent should have to choose be-tween paying the rent or feeding the family fuels our passion to keep the pantry shelves stocked for our most vulnerable citizens, our children. The unfortunate reality is Tulare County is one of the most productive agricultural counties in the nation yet 23% of its residents live at or below federal poverty levels. In addition, families with income just above poverty levels also struggle to stretch income to pay the rent, purchase gas for work, and feed the family. These are the households Visalia Emergency Aid Food Pantry serves on a daily basis; the retail service clerk, hotel housekeeper, fast food worker, unemployed, underemployed, senior on a fixed income, and farm laborer.

VEAC is the largest food pantry in Tulare County and serves over 13,000 families annually from its north Visalia location and 2 mobile pantries. Established in 1931, VEAC has weathered multiple economic recessions, wars, drought, and freeze and has remained a reliable source of food support for families who are experiencing financial difficulties.
