Wheat Ridge High School has relied on income from the Farmers 5000 since the very first race in 1981, 39 years ago. The net proceeds are given to various educational and special programs within the school. This year, due to health and safety concerns, the race is completely virtual. You run a 5k (or 3.1 miles) on your own at the time, day and location of your choosing between now and September 30. This could be on deserted streets at night, a little known trail route or even on your treadmill. Everyone who registers gets a downloadable personalized race bib and finisher's certificate. An official race shirt is available for purchase during registration until September 13, 2020. We're even going to have virtual random prize drawings.
Please obey all local ordinances regarding social distancing and mask wearing. Please also obey all traffic laws and be mindful of traffic on the open roads.
