APK (Capt Andrew Pedersen-Keel) 5K

This is the 10th Annual APK 5K Run/Walk & Ruck in memory of Capt Andrew Pedersen-Keel, with all proceeds going to benefit: Participants have the choice to take part in a live event at the Guilford Fairgrounds, 111 Lovers Ln, Guilford, CT on November 4, 2023 OR complete a 5K Run / Ruck at a time and location of their choice. The only limit is that you must complete the activity between October 28, 2023 and November 4, 2023.

Proceeds from this year's event will be used to provide support for the APK Charities Direct Assistance Program. This program is designed to provide direct financial and other support services to service members and their families, who are in need of emergency or hardship assistance.

Please Note: Registration for the live and virtual activities is exclusively online. Registration for the live event shall remain accessible until 9:50 am on race day morning. Virtual participants have until 12:00 pm on November 4, 2023 to register. 

Event Options

• Live 5K - Run or walk.
• Live Ruck March - Complete the 5K with attitude wearing a weighted backpack containing non perishable food items that will be collected after the event and donated to local food pantries.
  • We recommend pack weights of:
    • 10 lbs for participants  up to 150 lbs.; and
    • 20 lbs for participants over 150 lbs.
• Virtual Run / Ruck - Complete a 5K any time, anywhere between October 28, 2023 and November 5, 2023.

  • Race day check in opens: 08:00 am on November 4, 2023
  • Race start: 10:00 am. Arrive early and be ready to rumble at 10:00 am sharp!

Race Shirts

• A long sleeved race shirt will be given to the first 300 registrants. Shirts for virtual participants will be mailed after November 4, 2023.
• Shirt availability will be on a first come first served basis, preferred sizes are not guaranteed.
