LivFree Boos & Brews 5K

The Second Annual LivFree Boos & Brews 5k is a Halloween themed event that starts at 10am of Sunday, October 27th, 2024 at the Fairfield Hills Campus in Newtown, CT. Proceeds of the event will go to LivFree, whose mission is to bring moments of joy to families battling pediatric cancer. The event features a USATF certified 5k course that meanders through the roads and paved trails on this historic campus. Runners and walkers are welcome of all abilities (dogs and strollers too).

This year we are still throwing our Post-Race Halloween Party at NewSylum Brewing Company, just up the road from the finish line. This is limited to the first 300 runners to sign up. Note, only registered runners will be allowed into the post-race event. If you aren’t into partying, we would still love for you to come and run/ walk, we will even discount your registration a bit. At the conclusion of the 5k, we will host kids Trick or Treating in the driveway of the Shelton House. This is free (donations accepted) to all children.

• 5k Runner/ Walker AND Access to the NewSylum Post-Race Halloween Party at NewSylum Brewery (LIMITED TO 300 PARTICIPANTS)
  • The Post-Race NewSylum Halloween Party will feature free pizza for participants, as well as one free beer (21+ participants only). Additionally, participants will receive a race t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by 10/13), race bib, and finishers prize.
  • Cost of this is $40 - but if you raise $200, your registration will be refunded to you!
    • NOTE - You are not required to fundraise, but we would love to encourage you to be a Champion for LivFree and help us fight childhood cancer with smiles!
• 5k Runner/ Walker ONLY (discount for those who just wish to run and head home)
  
  • 5k Runner/ Walker ONLY will not have access to the Halloween Party, but you will still get a race t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by 10/13), a race bib, and a finishers prize.
  • Cost of this option is $30 - but if you raise $200, your registration will be refunded to you!

The Schedule for the day is as follows:

• 8:00am - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup Opens
• 9:45am - Report to Starting Line
• 10:00am - Scheduled Race Start
• 11:00am - Post-5k Events Begin:
  
  • NewSylum Post-Race Halloween Party opens for registered participants
  • Kids Trick or Treating in the driveway of the Shelton House
• 12:00pm - LivFree Boos and Brews 5k Events close - NewSylum Brewery Opens for business to the public and they want all participants to know that they can now come to the brewery for their regular business hours for the day. 

Finals Notes:

• The course is stroller friendly, as well as dog friendly (but dogs must be on short leash at all times). 
• As the day of the event approaches course maps, race day procedures, and more details will be sent out via email.
