What is RaceJoy?
RaceJoy is a free GPS tracking app which will be activated for each of the 4 Dash for Dignity course locations plus RaceJoy Anywhere for those of you running your own course!
Is RaceJoy Free?
Yes, all of RaceJoy’s features are free for Yad Leah Dash for Dignity participants and supporting friends and family.
What devices does RaceJoy work with?
RaceJoy is available for all Apple and Android phones and tablets.
Why should I use Racejoy when at one of the Yad Leah suggested parks?
- Racejoy will track your progress, pace and time.
- Racejoy will serve as a GPS giving you audio instructional cues so you know exactly where to go on the course.
- Racejoy will instantly upload your time to a communal website so you see your time and other participants’ times.
- Racejoy will give you progress alerts and allow your friends to send you cheers.
Why should I use Racejoy in my own neighborhood

Does Racejoy work on a treadmill
The app will not work on a treadmill, but you can still easily manually submit your treadmill finish time on the website.
How do I get started with RaceJoy?
- Locate your bib # by visiting your RunSignUp profile, locating our event, on the right menu options select Manage Registration, and then scroll down.
- Download the Racejoy App from the App store or Google Play.
- Locate Dash for Dignity in the app through the search feature or list of races.
- Choose "Participant" option and then follow the prompts carefully to get set up properly for race day.
- Enter your Name, Email, City, and Birthdate and confirm.
- Enter the bib number assigned to you.
- Confirm this is the device you will be using during your official run or walk.
Should I open the RaceJoy app before event day?
Yes, we recommend, that prior to event day, you input your Bib and race information and explore the app and get comfortable with it.
I am about to start the Dash, what should I do?
- Turn off WI-FI
- Turn your device locations on
- Open the app, go to our race, turn tracking on, select your course, and click Start My Race to begin your personal race clock.
When will the App be available?
The app is available now!
Do I need to stop the app when I finish my Dash?
NO, RaceJoy automatically stops your personal race clock when you have completed your course distance.
How do I upload my time to the website?
RaceJoy will automatically and instantaneously upload your time for you a soon as you complete your Dash. Please note your time when you finish - glitches happen!
Do I need to carry my phone to use RaceJoy?
Yes, if you wish to use RaceJoy’s GPS tracking and GPS-based progress alerts. If using a watch, you can manually upload your time to the website through RunSignUp.
I will be using my watch to track my race, how do I upload my time to the website?
To manually enter your finish time, visit your RunSignUp profile OR the Results page of the website to manually submit your time.
Can I use a music app using Racejoy?
Yes! Music and other apps work well with RaceJoy.
Can I use another fitness app while using RaceJoy?
Yes! You can use your everyday fitness tracking app such as Strava, Nike, MapMyRun, Garmin, etc. while using RaceJoy but we would recommend turning off your app’s audio settings so you can fully enjoy the RaceJoy experience
Will the app work if I need to stop for a break?
No problem, just Use the “Turn tracking off” feature in the upper right of the map to pause your clock.
Can I redo my race to attempt a faster time?
You can always redo your race through November 12. Please note that this will erase and replace your previous time.
How do my friends and family send me Cheers?
Spectators should Download the Racejoy App from the App store or Google Play. Locate Dash for Dignity in the app through the search feature or list of races. Choose "Spectator" option and then follow the prompts carefully to get set up and search for participants to track their progress and send cheers on race day.
Can I share my phone with a child or friend?
Each person using RaceJoy must carry their own phone and set up their own profile. Those that do not have their own cell phone can either borrow one from a family member, or manually enter their finish time on the event's results page.
.Any other app tips?
- Carry a map with you, just in case
- Make sure your battery is full
- Turn off all other non-essential apps that you don't need for your Dash
- Turn off your WI-Fi
