Santa's Helpers 5K

*Proceeds from this event will be used to help purchase Alexis a new racing chair.  

Alexis is a sophomore at Padua Academy. Alexis has spina bifida (L1) and uses a WC for mobility. She started track using a racing wheelchair in elementary school at St Ann's, where more than half the school is on the track team. Alexis shifted toward the longer distances (800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m) when competing for St Ann's in middle school and now at Padua. With the PCAS track team, Alexis does all the races from 100 m up to 3000 m and started seated throwing this year. This summer was her first trip to Nationals ( [2024 The Hartford Nationals conducted by Move United - Move United](https://moveunitedsport.org/.../the-hartford-nationals.../)), where she got 8 PRs. Alexis was just recently named to the 2024 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field High School All American Team.
