Did you know Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center aids in the rescue and release of these gentle giants?
You can read about two of our "Celebri-tees" below.
Any contribution is FIN-TASTIC, much appreciated (by both humans and manatees) and will support the Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC)!
Meet Rubble

Rubble is a 600-pound female manatee rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and ZooTampa. She was suffering from cold stress in the Rocky Creek area of Tampa. After a year of care, Rubble was returned to her native waters at Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center.
Meet Truffleshuffle

Truffleshuffle was one of seven manatees released at Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center on February 15, 2021 – a record day! He was an orphaned calf weighing just 205 pounds when rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He was sent to SeaWorld for care and had grown to 580 pounds when released. He's being monitored by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute and is doing great!
