Thank you for your interest in our annual Sprint for Sight 5K! Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind (BAAB) is a nonprofit organization that was started in 1966 by a few families in Brevard County that had children who were blind or had low vision. Instead of sending their children away to St. Augustine for school, they began BAAB to record school materials for children that were blind or had low vision. The organization grew from there to be able to provide services to those who had low vision, teaching them daily life skills that made life more accessible and encouraged independence. This is something that BAAB has continued to do over the past 60 years. BAAB began recording books and magazines for the Library of Congress, these recordings then become available for the blind and low vision community. BAAB is not a government funded organization and runs entirely off of donations and help from volunteers in our community. While there is incredible need in our community, there are limited resources. With your help, we can expand and continue to grow the community that we reach!
