The existence of our program is very important to our FUN Club members and their families. When a special needs child reaches age 22, they are no longer able to attend public school. When this occurs, their family must make some very difficult choices. The reality of finding an organization devoted to providing daily activities for their special needs children to remain social, active and happy, becomes a priority. Families need their children to attend an organization like the FUN Club without placing a financial burden on their households.
Our passion is to provide the best experience possible for our FUN Club friends every weekday while providing comfort and relief to their families by caring for their family members.
THE EXCEPTIONAL FOUNDATION OF ATLANTA
The Exceptional Foundation of Atlanta, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adults with developmental disabilities continue to thrive beyond aging out of the school system at age twenty-two. We do so by offering day program services where adults with special needs can engage in social interactions, recreational activities and community service.
We vow to give the highest quality of services without causing a financial burden to our participants and their families. We depend upon financial support to offset the daily tuition our participants incur as well as to cover program expenses such as activity supplies, community outings, transportation and program support staff.
At The Exceptional Foundation of Atlanta, we believe that everyone has abilities that deserve to be shared with others. Our program gives adults with special needs a place to do just that! We hope you will join our circle of supporters so we can help those with special needs live out their purpose each day!
This program was created to provide a stepping stone for young adults transitioning from School Age into Adulthood. This can be a very confusing and frustrating time for the families and young adults, due to the fact that after the age of 21 most programs are no longer available to them. Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett is one of the only programs that allow their students to grow from pre K and then simply transition into the YALLS division as young adults. Our hope is that each individual will grow their independence in the community, workplace, and within their homes. We strive to help each of our Young Adults find their niche that will provide them with the fulfillment and pride that will keep them pushing forward.
