The purpose of the Friends of Giant City is to support and enhance educational and recreational opportunities contributing to the preservation, conservation, and wise use of the natural resources at Giant City State Park.
Friends of Giant City is a not-for-profit [501(c)(3)] group organized in 2003. Our mission is to support and enhance educational and recreational opportunities by contributing to the preservation, conservation, and wise use of the natural resources at Giant City State Park.
Our organization is funded by membership dues, donations, and by fundraising. All proceeds are used for the Park and its programs.
All officers and board members of Friends of Giant City are volunteers. There is no paid staff.
What do the Friends of Giant City Do?
Donate hundreds of dollars for school and educational programs
Installed and maintain a native wildflower garden at the Visitors Center
Assist with weeding, landscaping, invasive removal and trail maintenance
Maintain and monitor bluebird trails
Assist with programs and hikes
Volunteer to greet park visitors at front desk
Present public educational programs
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be returned directly into the park.
