The race benefits the Friends of Maryland State Park Foundation. The Friends is a statewide, independent, all-volunteer 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, enhancing, and advocating for our state parks. Your donation will support our Small Grants Big Impact Program. This program provides conservation, environmental stewardship, cultural and natural resources interpretation, and forest health initiatives throughout Maryland State Forests and Parks by preserving and protecting public lands, waterways, and wildlife habitat for the benefit of our citizens.

The race is held in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Environmental Service, Maryland Department of Transportation, Maryland Port Administration, and Friends of Maryland State Parks.
