CPC was established in 1984 as a response to a critical need in our community: help for pregnant women who were struggling to make a life-affirming decision, suffering through a loss, or experiencing regret after having made a different choice.
While our roots planted in 1984 are important, we have now expanded our focus from the mother to the entire family - not just for the present, but also for the future. We are now the CPC of Lenawee Pregnancy & Family Resource Center, providing compassion, hope and help to families throughout Lenawee County.
What has changed from 1984 to the present?
Increased single parent households
Marriage rate has decreased by 50% (There is a de-linking of sex and marriage/family)
80% of abortions occur with single women
2 out of 5 abortions occur with women regularly attending church
Abortions, once utilized for “crisis pregnancies”, are now used as birth control and labeled as “reproductive health”
Since the Roe v Wade opinion in 1973, there have been 64 million abortions in the US, leaving numerous women feeling damaged and wounded - not to mention the effect on men and families
Post Abortion Stress Syndrome (PASS) has now been identified as a medical diagnosis

Every parent should have the freedom to choose life for their child
Men and women encountering pregnancy and parenthood need the vital resources that CPC offers:
Presentation of all options, including life affirming options
Opportunities to develop parenting skills
Opportunities to thrive; a safe place to learn, heal and grow
Opportunities to learn how to parent beyond what they may have experienced in their own lives
Opportunities to develop a sense of community and abundant life for themselves and their families

H = Holistic Healing and restoration for men, women and families suffering wounds acquired through abortion, fatherlessness, abuse or neglect
E = Education that equips families for pregnancy, parenting, motherhood, fatherhood, and life skills (one on one and group classes)
L = Life Affirming - Everyone is created in the image of God so we serve all, regardless of race, religion, culture, age, income, nationality, religious affiliation, disability, or any arbitrary circumstances
P = Physical and material resources (pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, community resource referrals, baby boutique)

Give. Cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7) We are looking for those who can financially support with a one time or recurring gift.
Build. Healthy families and strong communities (Luke 6:47-48) CPC is one of the best kept secrets in Lenawee County, but we want to be the best-known resource for ALL pregnancies and ALL parents, regardless of income, support, resources, need or abundance. Help us get the word out about all of our services!
Grow. Expanding the stakes of our tent (Isaiah 54:2-3) Just as our primary building has served us for many years, our new campus, including the new family resource center, will serve us for generations to come. You can contribute to this growth with resources, time and/or services.
Serve. Heartily unto the LORD (Colossians 3:23-24) We are always seeking volunteers to serve in a variety of areas. Whether you want to serve inside the CPC of Lenawee doing office work, serve from your home as a prayer warrior, or serve alongside our clients, we have exciting ways for you to get involved!
