Drought, disease, development, and drug mafias threaten the survival of the Rarámuri (Tarahumara)
The Rarámuri (Tarahumara) are facing a plague of crises: prolonged, drought, water-borne diseases and new crop pests, encroaching roads and development, and narco mafias seizing land and clearcutting their ancient forests. Outsiders have brought these problems; we can also help provide the solutions.
For centuries, the Rarámuri have prided themselves on their independence and self-reliance. For the first time in their history, they need outside help in securing the basics: clean water and seeds so they can continue growing food and living in their ancestral canyons.
The Copper Canyon Alliance is a part of a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your donations are 100% tax-deductible. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, 100% of your donations go directly to growing food and supporting indigenous Rarámuri communities.
