5th Annual Hannah's Heroes of NC Glow Run

About us: 

Hannah’s Heroes of NC is a 501c Nonprofit and was established by the friends and family of Hannah Cuthrell. Hannah died in a car accident in September of 2017. In her short 10 years, she had many interests and was able to explore a great deal of them in eastern NC, all the while spreading kindness through her smiles and her friendships. She was active in sports, always working on her next craft, and worked hard in school. 

Mission:

Through scholarships, service projects, and community grants, Hannah’s Heroes will empower children to explore their interests and spread kindness.

Our activities:

• spread kindness and appreciation to first responders, police, and teachers through cupcakes and random acts of kindness on Hannah's June 8th birthday; Hannah’s Heroes baked, decorated, and delivered over 600 cupcakes across NC (annual)

• donated a wooden playset to a small church for their growing children’s program

• support the Art and Education funds at Washington Montessori Public Charter School and GR Whitfield School (annual)

• established an endowed college scholarship for future educators at East Carolina University (ongoing)

• provide Teacher Appreciation treats for educators (annual)

• cook and serve meals to veterans for a local Fallen Outdoors Veteran’s Day event (annual)

• deliver “Hannah Box” holiday care packages to grieving families with surviving siblings (annual)

• award community grants to organizations that support children in exploring their interests and growing their confidence.  We are especially interested in providing greater access to children and families in need.  (annual)

• Annual 5K Glow Run to raise money for scholarships, kindness service projects- determined to let her light shine

• May we all dance in the rain when given the chance- like Hannah- and let our light shine
