Founded in 1977, the Wilmington Roadrunners Club is one of the oldest continuously operating clubs in North Carolina. Our 400+ members run the gamut from speedy racers to occasional joggers, bonded by the simple pleasure of putting one foot ahead of the other on the roads and trails of New Hanover County... and beyond.
The club promotes health and fitness, and also orchestrates important programs to the benefit of others including a college scholarship program. Since 2015, The WRRC has awarded $30,000 in scholarships. This year, a total of $9000 were awarded to six high school seniors who are passionate about the sport of running, are proven leaders within their high school and have committed themselves to serving their community. All proceeds from the Seaside Shuffle support our scholarship program.
