The SHTKIO are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded approximately 13 years ago with a mission to make a positive difference in the lives of not only the children battling adversity, but the families who are also affected. Our team is dedicated to putting smiles on the faces of children who need it most. We perform random acts of kindness to children facing adversity. We have performed over 950 special visits since 2010. As "SUPER HEROES TO KIDS IN OHIO", it is our goal to spread good will by (1) simple acts of kindness, (2) the recognition of individuals who have battled through adversity (3) and to encourage the involvement of ‘community’ to make a positive difference in the lives of others; especially children. We continue to make costumed visits to children’s hospitals, special needs centers, and various charitable events whenever we are needed, all in an attempt to bring a few smiles to kids and people.
Each opportunity to help others by a monetary donation is carefully considered as it materializes. One major thing we do each year is sponsor a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland. Although it is $5,000 annually, it helps families in town for their children’s medical treatments not have to worry about expensive lodging. Additionally, we donate to families whose children are going through severe illness or adversity on a case by case basis. These opportunities could mean anything from additional financial support, to a special opportunity away from illness, to a special care package to a child overcoming adversity.
