Rucks on Main has teamed with Alliance Bank to help fundraise for Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas (Kerrville).
Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas (Kerrville) provides trained service dogs to disabled Texas veterans at no cost — dogs that help with mobility, PTSD, and the long work of physical and emotional recovery.
106+ Texas veterans are waiting
46 of them are combat veterans with mobility and/or PTSD needs
It costs about $25,000 to train and place one service dog
Since 2013 they have successfully placed 79 dogs
At their current funding level they can provide a minimum of 8 dogs a year
They have the mission, the trainers, and the veterans. They need more funding so those 106 people don’t keep waiting.
