Each year FBCVM hosts the Mission 5k Fun Run in Valley Mills, TX. 100% of the money raised go towards sending and supporting church members participating in mission trips and projects both locally, regionally and internationally. Camp Barnabas:
In July 2025, the student ministry will be taking 12 students and 3 adults to serve at Camp Barnabas in Missouri. Camp Barnabas is a ministry in Southwest Missouri dedicated to providing a unique Christian summer camp experience to individuals with special needs, their siblings, and youth from across the United States. Each student will be working side-by-side with their camper while providing unconditional love and care for all their needs during the week. G.A.P Ministries:
Gloria al Padre (G.A.P.) Ministries was founded by former FBC Valley Mills pastor, Billy Ray Parmer. Each year FBCVM partners with G.A.P. ministries to send teams of people to Mexico to share the gospel through various avenues including providing medical care, the construction of buildings, spiritual education and agricultural support. FBCVM will be sending teams in April 2025 & October 2025. Learn more about G.A.P. ministries at www.gloriaalpadre.org
Colorado - Church Plant:
In May 2025, a team from FBCVM will travel to Colorado to assist with a planned church plant. The team will provide support in planning and serving at the church's second ever service. Leading up to that service, they will participate in outreach events in the local park as well as advertising the new church.
Madagascar - Training:
In June 2025, a team from FBCVM will travel to Madagascar. We will be partnering with other churches from the US as well as Southwestern Theological Seminary. The groups will work with church leaders in Madagascar to provide theological training. Groups will also spend time in villages doing evangelism work as well as discipling existing church members.
Kenya - Outreach:
In July 2025, a team from churches in Texas will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya. FBCVM will be partnering with those churches to provide training for them as they prepare to serve. In Kenya, the team will be working with refugees as well as kids living on the street.
Bosque Baptist Association - Church Plant:
A group from FBCVM will be joining the Bosque Baptist Association in July 2025 to return to Brownsville, Texas for the second year. We will be working with an existing church plant to provide support as they reach out to their community. The group will be doing evangelism work in the neighborhoods as well as working on projects at the church. Learn more about the Bosque Baptist Association at www.bosqueassociation.com
