About FYI 

Fresh Youth Initiatives empowers youth who have the fewest resources to achieve their greatest potential. Founded in 1993, FYI has emerged as a leading provider of youth development programs and services in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,400 students in grades Pre-K to 12 at five sites.

Why Support? 

COVID-19 exposed the narrow margins within which many FYI families survive. Our Washington Heights community of hard-working Latino immigrant and first-generation families continues to experience disproportionate rates of illness, unemployment, housing instability, and lack of access to social services. 

FYI quickly pulled together a safety net of new and re-imagined programs and services for our 1,400 youth and their families. 

Where Does My Donation Go?

With your help, FYI will remain a source of direct support for families who need it most. All money raised will provide:

1. Hunger relief to more than 800 individuals 
2. Mental health counseling and crisis intervention for every FYI child and family 
3. Individual and group tutoring for students most affected by COVID learning loss 
4. Comprehensive social services for families in need
