55 mile
The St. Francis Gravel Classic is a bike ride on gravel roads through The Mississippi River State Park and The St. Francis National Forest. The rides consist of a 55, 25 or 12 mile rides on gravel roads. The last five miles for each distance is paved, everything else is gravel.
The first 3 female and male riders of each distances will be awarded prizes from our host and sponsors. We will set up a clock at the southeast end of Bear Creek Lake Dam. This will be the finish line for the timed portion of the ride, and then you will ride the remaining 5 miles to The Mississippi River State Park on paved road 44, back to the finish line, post ride party and your vehicles.
There is a short, but steep hill to climb to the finish clock. The 55 mile Ride has over 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
