The Race Begins in
RACE FOR THE LIGHT
is a global virtual fitness challenge designed to bring awareness and aid to students living in marginalized communities across Haiti.
Join your friends, family, and community members to connect and compete in this 40-day virtual challenge, bringing hope to 1,500 children.
WHY WE RACE?
Two out of three Haitians live on less than $2.00 (USD) per day, and nearly 25% survive on less than $1.25 (USD) per day. Combined with inadequate education infrastructure, this makes schooling inaccessible for most children.
Lumen Vitae partners with schools to get children off the streets and into classrooms. Beyond basic education, we provide daily meals, after school tutoring, and personal accompaniment.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1. Register: Sign up for the virtual race with a $40 registration fee, which includes a custom T-shirt.
2. Grab Your Team: Gather friends, family, and community members from anywhere in the world to form your team.
3. Set Your Goals: Set team goals for steps taken and funds raised. Download the Charity Footprints app and connect your devices.
4. Get Moving: from Tuesday, March 25, to Wednesday, April 30, at 8:59 PM EST, track your activities and steps anywhere.
