Description
5k YOUR way at this virtual event! On your treadmill, out with friends, or come join us at one of two local meet-ups. There is no wrong way to do this 5k. The event spans the entire month of April, which is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Participants are encouraged to wear teal to express their support for survivors and dress up in their best 90's attire to celebrate the year Hernando County got its own service center (1993). It's time to break out your fanny packs, scrunchies, puffy socks, neon clothes, and high-top sneakers. Send us your videos or pictures as you participate, and we will be happy to post! All participants will receive event T-shirt and finishing certificate. Proceeds support services for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence provided by Dawn Center of Hernando County.
What is a virtual race?
A virtual race can be run anywhere. You can run, walk, hike, even crawl, the race distance wherever you want. You can run/walk indoors on a treadmill or around your neighborhood. However, you don't have to do it alone. We will have two local meet-ups where you can run/walk with other supporters. Meet-ups will take place on April 2nd (Brooksville) and April 30th (Spring Hill). Register online and details will come in your confirmation email. Don't forget to dress in your '90's best!
Fee- $35- includes shirt, certificate, and goodie bag!
It will be all that and a bag of chips!
