We expect the registration for the 2025 race to close soon as the inventory of 2025 shirts and medals will be depleted. We have a limited number of spots available for the 2025 race where participants will receive a shirt and medal from the 2024 race (pictured below) instead of this year's shirt/medal. You'll also receive a $15 discount on your entry fee! Neither the shirt or medal have a date on them so you would never know they are from 2024 except for the different design. These spots are limited and we expect the entire race to be sold out before race day!

This group has years of experience helping athletes achieve their goal times while participating in multiple races across Central Florida. My name is Daniel McCarthy. I have run 45 marathons including 8 (soon to be 9) Boston Marathons as well as 5 ultras. I have been pacing for years and have also been a multi-year guide at the Leadville, Colorado running camp.
Pacing is my way of giving back to the running community and I genuinely enjoy watching and helping people succeed and hit their (running) goals.

Hi my name is Katrina Pelican. I’ve been running for 12 years.
My favorite marathon is the NYC marathon! I pace that race and I love the amazing foot tour of all boroughs, crowds, and all of the amazing runners that I meet and help to reach their goals!
Why I pace? The running community has given me so much and helped me when life got rough and has brought the most amazing friends ever!
Fun Fact about me…..I love donuts! Everytime I travel to a new destination that is the first place I look for to check out!

Hi my name is Daniel Soucy. I’ve been running for three years, and in that time, I’ve lost over 100 pounds and caught what they call “the running bug”, and I absolutely love it!
My favorite race is the Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra (or just about any ultramarathon). I thrive on the challenge of pushing my body and mind beyond their limits.
Why do I pace? I love the energy and excitement of race day, the camaraderie, and meeting new people who are eager to achieve their goals.
When I’m not running, I cherish spending time with my five granddaughters.

Hi my name is Maria. I have been pacing since the inception of West Volusia Pacers in 2018. I have been running since 2003. My favorite race is the Mermaid Half Marathon in November in DeBary, Florida. I race for my health- as a trauma and cancer survivor, physical activity is critical to staying healthy both physically and mentally. A fun fact about me is that I can balance golf clubs on my nose.

Refund Policy
1. Entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred unless you are a member of Sommer Sports Maniacs.
2. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to inclement weather, emergency, natural disaster or governmental interference.
3. Race management reserves the right to accept or reject all entry forms.
4. USAT sanctioned events only - In accordance with USAT policy, you must show either a photo id or driver's license to pick up a triathlon packet. The name on the race packet must match the id/dl provided. You must also show proof of USAT membership or purchase a 1-day license. No photo ID is required to pick-up a non-USAT Sanctioned run packet.
5. Sommer Sports has a NO REFUND policy. However, if you must withdraw from an event prior to 14 days of the event date, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be provided to you. This discount code is valid for one year from the date of your request, and can only be redeemed towards a Sommer Sports owned event. No compensation will be provided within 14 days of the event that you are withdrawing from.
6. Most Sommer Sports events allow you to transfer your entry to another athlete by paying a minimal transfer fee as long as the transfer is completed 14 days prior to the event.
