ANNOUNCEMENT - Due to the recent storms Lake Park has been taken over by FEMA and now is being used as a county debris site. All pending events are being cancelled until further notice. Currently there is not an expected reopening date.

As a result of the change in status of Lake Park, and other parks in the county, we will be changing the race to a virtual run. More details will follow. We will be communicating with our sponsors and registered runners over the coming days. We are disappointed to deliver this news and apologize for the inconvenience.

We all love Buddy Baseball and the chance to support this incredible organization that provides kids with special needs the opportunity to play ball! If your local, you can participate in our in-person race, and we also offer a virtual option to allow people from all over the country to participate! The Buddy Run is put on by Congregation Beth Am Tampa and benefits Buddy Baseball, a non-competitive recreational league for boys and girls with special needs based in Temple Terrace, FL. Each player is paired with a “Buddy” to assist the player as needed. The league fosters friendships and breaks down barriers. Buddy Baseball is an opportunity like no other for children with special needs. Not only do the players experience the thrill of participating, they also get to experience team play and camaraderie. The Buddy Run is the largest fundraiser of Buddy Baseball and helps keep participant costs affordable for all.
PACKET PICK UP
Pre-race packet pick up will be held on Saturday, November 2 from 3 - 5 pm at The Running Center - Tampa on 14427 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL, 33618
NEW ROAD & COUNTY PARKING FEE
The road to the back parking lot has been raised and paved! Please note, a $2 cash fee per vehicle will be charged upon entry to the park. This usage fee is standard for all Hillsborough County parks and helps maintain this beautiful green space!

VIRTUAL 5K
Run the virtual 5K anytime anywhere from 10/28 - 11/3 and post your results on the website (optional). This is a great way to help support Buddy Baseball without being at the in-person event.

Once you register you will receive a unique referral link that will allow you to share with your friends, family, coworkers, ANYONE! If you get three people to run, you receive a refund of up to $15 as our way of thanking you for spreading the word about this great race supporting Buddy Baseball!

5K Course Route
The course at Lake Park is the same one that was used last year, see the map below. It is an out and back route with the start and finish in front of the Eagle Shelter.
If you are signing up for the virtual option, run anywhere you want to! That's the beauty of a virtual race.
