Palmetto Ridge 5k Bear T-R-O-T

The 5k is a by-product of a partnership between Youth Haven and Palmetto Ridge Spanish Honor Society, with the goal of raising awareness surrounding the "Mental Health" of our youth community. Our intention is to implement mental health awareness through the incorporation of Disney Pixar's animated film, Inside Out. Specifically, the event is geared towards highlighting the adverse effects of an unstable or abusive family environment upon the psychological development of a minor's brain. The film showcases 5 different characters representative of the emotions within a child's head and how they contribute to her mental stability, the emotions include: fear, joy, anger, sadness, and disgust. All profits from the event, including those derived from donations and sponsorships, will go to Youth Haven.
