Description
This is the 3rd Annual race over the new Rails to Trails overpass in Fellsmere/Sebastian.
The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County recently awarded grants totaling $6,012 to nonprofit charitable organizations serving children and families in Indian River County.
The grants were awarded from the 2020 Rail Trail 5K Walk/Run proceeds and included the following organizations:
· $2,000 to the Treasure Coast Food Bank to support the “Mobile Pantry Program.”
· $1,890 to The Gifford Youth Orchestra for one annual tuition scholarship.
· $1622 to the Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast to support their “Teaching Social Skills Using Equine Assisted Activities program.”
· $500 to the Kindergarten Readiness Collaborative to support their “Family Engagement Initiative.”
The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County’s Community Grant program was made possible through the generous sponsorships, donations, and ticket sales for their annual Rail Trail 5K Run/Walk. This event is unique in that the route takes participants across the I-95 Central Railroad Corridor Greenway Pedestrian Overpass, the 12-foot-wide bridge that connects the North County Regional Park and the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will take place the day before the race at Runner's Depot in Vero Beach (436 21st St Vero Beach, FL 32960) from 10-5. You can also pick up your packet on race morning starting at 7am.
Awards
Male/Female Overall, Male/Female Overall Masters
Age group awards to top 3 male and female finishers in following categories:
13 and Under,14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over
M/F Overall Winner will receive Gift Certificate worth $300.
Parking
Parking will be just West of I-95 on CR 512 on the right hand side of the road. Once you park, you will walk down the sidewalk to the park entrance of the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve.
