The Veterans Day 5k race has been an integral part of the Tallahassee Veterans Day celebration. The Veterans Day activities reflect a military-related topic each year and for 2020 the theme is: Women in the Military and Women Veterans. Women have served and continue to serve alongside their brothers towards the common goal of defending and preserving the American way of life.
After a brief hiatus, the Veterans Day 5k was planning a comeback on November 11, 2020 but the COVID-19 altered the course of events. Though the Veterans Day parade was cancelled, the Veterans Day 5k was not. We switched to plan B: The Veterans Day 5k run/walk is going virtual.
What does VIRTUAL mean? It means you can run/walk your own 5k route any time, anywhere between November 4, 2020 and November 11, 2020.
