Back by popular demand! This is one of our most favorite races, and we are thrilled to be able to make it happen!
Let's honor America's veterans with an event focused on supporting them! This event will have both a "fun run" aspect to it as well as competition as the event will have a certified time for all distances! The path is the paved Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail on the southern side of the bridge. There is a relatively high (in Florida terms) peak that each distance (with the exception of the 5K) will cover along the route that allows for a picturesque view of Tampa Bay. It is truly one of Tampa's most beautiful places to run or walk.
There will be a 5K and a 10K option for this race, but a limited number of spots will be available due to the demand of the half marathon. We will also have the 16-mile option which runs the full length of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, out and back style. To be clear, each of the distances will be an out-and-back run, but only the 16 mile race will run the entire length of the bridge.
We will have plenty of aid stations along the course with water and an electrolyte drink, and we will also have a couple choices for food-type fuel for half marathon and 16 mile runners. We will ensure sanitary conditions for all aid stations, but feel free to ask questions about specifics if you choose.
Proceeds from this race will go to the Stano Foundation. This foundation support our Armed Forces, Veterans, and their families through program based initiatives focused on enhancing their comfort and quality of life by providing them with a piece of home. What this organization does for our military members is truly an amazing quality-of-life enhancement. Words cannot express what it's like to receive care packages downrange, so we want to ensure they're able to continue providing this service.
Prepare yourself to run along the Courtney Campbell Trail located on the southern side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway. You will start out at one of the shelters and run alongside the water taking in the magnificent views of Tampa Bay. Let the smell of the Bay engulf your senses and open your airways as you soak in the early morning sun. This will truly be one of the most beautiful races in which you have ever entered.
The Stano Foundation is an all volunteer based IRS approved 501c3. Quarterly, they send care packages to our actively deployed. Each care package contains between 40 and 50 items. They also partner with the West Tampa American Legion Auxiliary Unit 248 to assist local Veterans transitioning out of homelessness. Although they do not find them housing, they assist with food, hygiene and starter items for their new home. They also hold quarterly socials for our Veterans which help them foster friendships.

Packet pickup locations have finally been established!
On Tuesday, 2 November from 1700-2000, packet pickup will be at Four Stacks Brewing located at 5469 N U.S. Hwy 41, Apollo Beach, FL 33572.
There will be packet pickup on race day available. We have a streamlined process that will allow for pick up to move quickly.
Shirts will be handed out in the packets. You will receive the size you requested. If, for any reason, you need to get a different size, you must wait until after the race to ensure there are enough extras of other sizes. We appreciate your understanding of this matter!
We got extremely lucky this year when Kristina from Hiccup Earth reached out to us about what we intended to use for water cups. Hiccup Earth provides an alternative option to disposable cups that helps eliminate waste and save our planet. At the Veteran’s Run, we will go through thousands of cups for water and electrolyte drinks on the course. Not all of those cups will make it into a trash can, and, worse, some would likely end up littering Tampa Bay. However, we do not have to worry about that anymore! These are silicone cups that can be used, tossed to the side, and will then be picked up to be cleaned and sanitized for another race in the future!
