Accomodations
Take a look at the Course Map to orient yourself with where you'll be starting, traveling through and ending. Most teams will opt for lodging in Idaho Springs the night before the race if you're not local to the area. Other options for lodging the night before the start are Golden, Arvada, Lakewood, and Denver; however you will have about a 45 minute commute to the start line if you opt to stay here. Some teams will also book lodging mid-race, but most will utilize the "camping" locations we have available, sleeping in vans or tents where allowed. While there are several hours that "inactive" vans have to rest, the time really goes fast and traveling to a hotel mid-race might add more logistics and planning than you'd like.
Finally, we encourage you to stay the night in Buena Vista after you've finished if timing allows. It's a beautiful town, and you'll appreciate a good nights rest without getting back in vans after you've finished!
Idaho Springs
Idaho Springs has hotel, AirBnB, and VRBO options if you are arriving Wednesday or Thursday. Make sure you book early if you plan to stay a night or two prior to the start. Other options of places to stay are Denver, Golden, Arvada, and Lakewood; if you choose to stay in one of these locations just know you will have a 30-45 minute drive to the race start, so plan accordingly.
Buena Vista
Book this lodging ASAP as Buena Vista is a popular town this time of year with several events going on. Most lodging is refundable, so hop on it now knowing you can make changes if needed! There are hotels, AirBnB, and VRBO options.
