Hello my name is Ann Marie Coan and I would like to share with you a startling statistic facing youngsters in America;
In 2019 1 in 7 children lived with hunger daily, that’s 13 million children. However, in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic, that number has increased to 1 in 4 children.
No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger through effective programs that provide kids with the food they need. This is a problem we know how to solve. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of Share Our Strength, an organization working to end hunger and poverty.
Before this crisis, millions of hungry kids relied on school for food. For many, it was the only food they might get on a given day. With many classrooms closed, schools and local nonprofits are struggling to reach kids with the meals they need. And with many parents out of work, more children in the United States may be facing hunger than ever before.
Since the start of the pandemic, NKH sent nearly $27 million in emergency relief to hundreds of schools and community groups across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and Guam. These funds, and their hands-on guidance, are helping them serve some 10.8 million meals a day during this crisis. See how they've helped your community here.
For the past 30 years, I have hosted an annual “Friendsgiving” party to raise money for children in need. Over those years the parties grew as did the “Friendsgiving Family”. Since 2014 we have raised over $85,000.
This year we are hosting our 4th annual 5K/1M race/walk to support our mission to help feed hungry kids. We are hoping to recruit 200 “Friends” to participate in the race. Our goal is to raise $20,000 through race registration and runner sponsorship.
Remember every $1.00 you raise will connect 10 children with a nutritious meal.
Love and Happy Friendsgiving from our “family” to yours!

$20,000 can feed 200,000 children!
To help us reach this goal, we encourage participants to set up their own personal running page and reach out to their family and friends to sponsor them. We want to make this Friendsgiving event to be fun for all and we want to stomp out childhood hunger one energetic step at a time!

Every Kid. Healthy Food. Everyday
1 in 4 kids in America today faces hunger.
WHAT DOES “GOING HUNGRY” MEAN, EXACTLY?
In the United States today, facing hunger can mean different things. Maybe there's no food in the house and no money to buy any. Maybe there’s food, but not enough to last through the end of the month, so parents skip meals, or kids get smaller portions than they need.
Whatever their situation, kids who don’t have reliable access to three healthy meals a day are much more likely to face unhealthy, unsuccessful, uncertain futures.
That’s just not acceptable. We can solve this problem and solving it would provide the greatest return on investment.
“Today’s kids are tomorrow’s artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, business, military, and political leaders”
When you become part of No Kid Hungry you're joining a movement of teachers, chefs, community leaders, parents, lawmakers and CEO's with a shared belief: no kid in America should go hungry.
