The Dare To Tri Sprint Triathlon is a 300 meter pool swim, 16K bike ride, and 5K run that takes place completely on the grounds of Fort Gordon.  Come enjoy a race with low traffic on base property that helps to support our military.  Race starts at 9AM.

**COVID Changes**

• During the registration process, please be as accurate as possible with your 100 meter swim time.  To give you an idea of times: an excellent swimmer is around 1min/100 meters and the average triathlete is close to 2min/100 meters.  Beginners and less experienced swimmers are often much slower.  Listing an accurate time is very important this year.
• We ask that you bring the QR code that you are emailed after registration to speed up packet pick up and keep it contact free. 
• You are required to wear a mask for packet pick up at the aquatic center on base. 
• We ask that you maintain 6' of social distancing in line to pick up your bib.
• No onsite registration will be available, but registration will remain open online until 30 minutes prior to the start on race day. Please use your phone or home computer.
• We ask that athletes arrive on site body marked or bring a marker to mark yourself once you arrive. 
• Athletes will be asked to wear disposable mask until they reach the starting mat.  They will be able to throw the mask in the trash at the mat. 
• Athletes will be lined up outside and brought in as the start area allows for social distancing. 
• Additional time will be given between swimmers.
• Athletes will be given a mask upon finishing and required to wear it for the awards ceremony.
• Athletes will need to remove their own timing chips from their ankles at the finish line and drop them into a wash bucket.  We'll take it from there.
• Please follow all national/state/local/Ft Gordon guidelines.  
• Aid stations will have sealed bottles of water. 
• Post race food and drink will be individually wrapped/sealed.
  
  

SWIM START INFO - MASK REQUIRED 
We use a time trial start for the swim.  Athletes will be standing in a line waiting to start according to swim pace. 

If you need to change your swim time (per 100 M), you can do this yourself through your RunSignUp Athlete profile, and choose Upcoming events > Dare To Tri > Manage Registration > Questions (tab in gray up top). 

To guide you, swim times will fall somewhere between a world record speed of 46.91/100M - the average triathlete around 1:45/100M - a very timid new swimmer of 5:00/100M. Please try to be as accurate as possible.  You will have a much more enjoyable swim if you put in the correct swim time.

 Due to COVID precautions, the swim line will not be able to be contained in the building completely, so you may be standing outside until the last 50 meters of the line. The air temperature is expected to be a low of 66 and a high of 85 degrees F. You will need to wear a disposable mask in line. You will be expected to wear your mask until your turn to start at which point, there will be a trash can for you to throw your mask away.  If you do not have a mask, Ft Gordon will have masks on site.  Please help Ft Gordon continue to be allowed to have events during this time by following the rules.
