Description

It's time to Run for the Gold!! Grab your family and friends and go for a 1 Mile/5K run/walk with us Friday, March 18, 2022! Note: due to the fluidity of The Coronavirus Epidemic, we will have a virtual race option available.

The live race will begin at Oak Grove Elementary.  All 5K run and 1-mile run/walk participants registered by February 25th will receive a T-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed after that day.  5K awards will be given to the top three male/female winners of each age group. Top male/female per grade level will receive awards for the 1 mile, as well as Overall and Masters. Run for the Gold is part of the PTC Running Club Grand Prix.

SCHEDULE EVENTS ON RACE DAY - MARCH 18th

  • Warm-up starts at 5:45 PM.
  • 1 Mile Race begins at 6:00 PM.
  • The 5K Race will start at 6:15PM

Race numbers and T-shirts for Oak Grove families will be sent home with students the day of the race. All other participants can pick up race packets on race day.  For more information you may visit our website at www.oges.org.

Your participation in this race will support our teachers and teacher programs. During the registration process, you'll be able to designate the teacher(s) you want to honor. The teachers and staff do so much for us every day! Let's get out there and run/walk a 5K for them.

Here’s how it works:

1.) Register and pay $25 to run/walk/crawl the 1 Mile or 5K distance on a course (or virtual course of your choosing). The live race will occur Friday, March 18, 2022. Registrations made AFTER February 25th are not guaranteed a t-shirt or prefer t-shirt size. Virtual participants will have the option to race over the weekend.

** Price Per Person is $25 / Max of $100 per household. Please fill out a paper registration if you have a family larger than 4 people. Click here to download registration form. **

2.) Attention Virtual Racers: If you want your times published on our leaderboard, please submit your times via RunSignup. We are using the honor system. (So, even if you don't run/walk the distance, no one will know. Enjoy your shirt anyway!)

3.) We are offering an in-person t-shirt pick-up. Race numbers and T-shirts for Oak Grove families will be sent home with students the day of the race. All other participants can pick up race packets on race day.  Virtual Packet Pick-up will be offered as well. Location and Dates to be determined. Please watch your e-mail for updates.

4.) Please tag us in any social media posts at #RFTG2022 - we want to see all your smiling faces!

We live in a wonderful city. Peachtree City is full of wooded paths, nature preserves, parks, and lakes. Let's use this as an excuse to go outside and enjoy our community! Register today, and let's celebrate our school and run/walk virtually together!

FAQ

1.) What time does the race start?

  • 5:45PM: Warm-Up begins  / 6 PM: 1-Mile Walk / 6:15PM:  5K Race

2.) I see there is a $100 Max per household. How can I register on Runsignup.com and only pay $100 for my household of five (or more)?

  • At this time, there is no way to max out the registration payment at $100 on Runsignup.com. If you have more than 4 people to register, please fill out a paper application and send in a check/cash to the PTO/Front office for processing.  Checks should be made out to OGES PTO.

  • Link to download paper application: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cx6U3kY8KL_T3KHXOrnb_fsO7UO_WgkHw7_Dt-ICT0c/edit?usp=sharing

3.) I have to work late on Friday and I registered for virtual. How do I run the virtual race?

  • It's simple, just run or walk outside or on a treadmill anytime between March 18 and March 20th? You can split up the miles even... walk/run a mile each day. It's completely on the honor system. Whether you run or not, you'll still get a nifty t-shirt to show your support of our school.

4.) When will I get my t-shirt?

  • We are offering an in-person t-shirt pick-up. Race numbers and T-shirts for Oak Grove families will be sent home with students the day of the race. All other participants can pick up race packets on race day.  Virtual Packet Pick-up will be offered as well. Location and Dates to be determined. Please watch your e-mail for updates.

5.) Can you mail my t-shirt?

  • No, we will not be mailing out t-shirts. You will be able to pick-up your shirt on race day or on an official virtual packet pick-up date in front of Oak Grove Elementary.

6.) How late can I register?

  • We will close registration on Friday, March 18th at 3 p.m. Please note that all registrations made after Feb. 25th will not be guaranteed a shirt.

7.) Where do I post my results?

8.) I don't want to run and I do not want a t-shirt, but I want to give money to the cause. How do I do this?

  • To give, just click the DONATE  link at the top of our page to donate. The funds will be handled by the PTO and given to the school (along with all the registration fees). Thank you for supporting Run for the Gold.
