EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Get ready for the MONSTER DASH 5K and the 1Mi. Fun Walk presented by Coosa Valley Lodge 14, Fraternal Order of Police to benefit the "Christmas with Cops" event, providing gifts for needy children during the holidays!!

The 5K will start & finish near the gym at Georgia Highlands College, and hey--don't let the 'monster dash' part scare you!  The course is actually very flat and scenic (see full course description below.) 

Please plan to hang around after the race for 5K age group awards presentations, while enjoying some food and music!   What a great way to start your weekend and support a worthy cause! 

• Speaking of the CAUSE...Last year in 2023, we raised more than $17,000 for local children this Christmas, thanks to our generous community. Thank you for making Christmas with Cops a success. This is our favorite time of year!  Please join us October 26 to help make this a reality for many of our youth!

REGISTRATION INFO:

Pre-Race, on-line Registration will be open until 11:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024. (Pre-register to guarantee your T-shirt size!)  

     Pre-race Race Registration Fees:  

 
        $30 for the 5K

        $20 for the 1M Fun Walk

     Race Day Rates:     (Note: We cannot guarantee your T-Shirt Size if you register on Race Day!)

          $40 for the 5K

          $30 for the 1Mi Fun Walk

PACKET PICK UP--FRIDAY, NOV 10th: 

For those who have pre-registered, we highly-encourage you to pick up your race packet & t-shirt on Friday, Oct. 25th from 10am--6pm at the GoGo Running/The Shoe Box store (1018 Martha Berry Blvd NE, Rome, GA 30165).  Saves time & stress on race morning!  

PARKING:

There is plenty of Parking is available at GA Highlands College, conveniently located near the start/finish and restroom facilities.

5K COURSE:

The 5K course starts near the GA Highlands gym, runs down to the beautiful lake and turns left, making a clockwise loop around the graveled path of the lake before returning to campus. Runners then make their way back to the gym by continuing around the campus buildings clockwise to the finish area near the gym.  This course is flat, whether running around the campus buildings or around the lake!

1 Mi. FUN WALK COURSE:

The 1 Mi. Run Walk will make a small out-n-back loop before finishing in front of the ROARING CROWD!!!  The crowd goes wild....! 

5K AWARDS:

Overall awards in the 5K will be presented to the following:

Top 3 Overall M&F
Top 3 Masters M&F
Top 3 in each of the following Age Categories M&F:
       10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

NOTE: The 1 Mile Fun Walk is just for smiles...no awards presented for the 1 Mi.
