Top of the Morning To YA!
Lace'm up and Join us for a festive 5K. The Suwanee Kiwanis will host it's 8th Annual Shamrock 5K on Saturday, March 16th in the beautiful Suwanee Town Center Park to raise funds for scholarships! The proceeds last year assisted us in awarding scholarships to three local high school students. Our goal is to raise even more this year and give to even more college bound students in the Suwanee area.
The Shamrock is a 3.1 mile course that starts at Suwanee's City Hall, takes runners down Town Center Avenue and leads them to the serenity of our green way before ending back up at City Hall.
While runners will not be given a pot of gold at the finish line, there will be a host of prizes! We will give prizes to the runners showing their best St. Paddy's Day Spirit and have awards for our top finishers in a range of age groups.
In addition, the top two overall winners of the race (1 male) and (1 female) will receive a medal that contains half of our Kiwanis logo. The other part of that prize can be obtained by winning the North Gwinnett Kiwanis' Onion Run.
Race registration will begin at 7 AM and the race will begin promptly at 8 AM and will be chip timed. So come out, earn your beer and a little bit of modern day gold (giftcards) for showing off your St. Paddy's Day Spirit!
I'll see you, in costume, on March 16th! Meet you at the Blarney Stone (Suwanee City Hall).
Packet Pickup for this race will be at Suwanee City Hall (330 Town Center Avenue, Suwanee, GA 30024) on Friday evening and Saturday prior to the race.
The hours are as follows:
Friday, March 15th, 4:15 PM-8 PM
Saturday, March 16th, 6:45 AM through the beginning of the race (and after for those who sleep in)
