Description
Ashley was always consistent with her mammograms and monthly breast examinations. In February 2021, she had her scheduled mammogram which showed no signs of cancer. In May, while doing her monthly self examination, she discovered a lump. She made appointment with her doctor who scheduled another mammogram. This mammogram changed her life. It came back showing Stage 1 Breast Cancer. Ashley started chemotherapy in August 2021. In October, she had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer cells. She completed the last round of chemotherapy in November, and the doctors ordered her to undergo radiation treatments. She started radiation in January 2022. By March, she had completed her radiation treatments and was declared in remission.
Ashley recognizes that everyone does not have the love and financial support that she had. Therefore, she decided to do a breast cancer walk to raise money to provide others with access to mammograms and other cancer treatment resources. She received such personal and loving care from the individuals at the Cancer Center at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. Therefore, she is providing all donations and registration fees to the Tanner Foundation.
