WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

Suicide prevention is a necessity, and awareness of suicide survivors is also necessary.  Too often, survivors are not supported after their loved one dies.  All too often they are misunderstood and ridiculed and ignored and looking for answers to questions, answers most likely to never come.  Suicide damages families long-term, easily for life, and especially the surviving children.  How do you talk to the children about suicide without breaking their spirit?  When innocence is lost and the empty void remains in the heart of a survivor, the best thing to do is talk about it with people who have experienced this trauma.  The hurt is always there, and the betrayal, the distrust of others, the families have to endure this hardship in the aftermath.  We made a promise to love, and we shake on it.  So many people are affected.  We don't want suicide to ever be an option for these now at-high risk children.  Come help raise funds for Heartstone, a grieving center for children and families here in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Properties 4 Purpose has already come forward in the community by offering to donate real estate commission proceeds to charitable organizations in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  Now, we have come together to create this race to help Heartstone thrive.  Heartstone is an important part of our community.  Adults can barely handle their own grieving, so handling this tremendous process for their children alone is overwhelming.  It truly does take a village, and Heartstone is the place where grieving children can go to feel support and to relate with other children and adults in these very hard circumstances.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to Heartstone, with the exception of the children's race admission, where 50% will go to the schools and the other 50% to Heartstone.

In addition, the Heartshake Challenge & Festival has support from many sponsors, and we are still happily accepting more sponsors at this time.  Please email repeatincevents@gmail.com if you wish to participate as a sponsor in this event.

HEARTSHAKE FESTIVAL

As the races commence, the festival begins!  Bouncy houses galore, free face-painting, free cotton candy & popcorn, 50/50 raffle, kids raffle, games, nerf wars, kids zumba, fingernail painting, origami table, entertainment & prizes!  Activities and entertainment from local dance companies and great music!  There will be a few select food vendors at the event as well.  Come and have a great time, learn a little, and support Heartstone!

Festival admission is included in the race entry fees, and you will receive a wristband for it if you race.  If you do not race, punch cards are only $10 for the whole day and everything inside is free for kids ages 2-12, all day, with the exception of the hot air balloon!  Bring your family (adults are free) and support an amazing cause that is so very needed in our community.  Thanks for your help!  Sign up on this page.

School Fundraising Opportunity

For school, we will be distributing flyers and posters.  If you get your students to participate in this special event, by being a part of the fun run, 50% of those registration proceeds will be donated directly to the school in with the participant attends, through the Idaho Foundation for Suicide Survivors.  100 racers = $1000 dollars or more for your school.  This promotes awareness for suicide survivors and suicide prevention, and also physical fitness for the kids! Call 208-357-6368 for more info.
