2020 Race Cancelled

JRFYR participants & supporters...

We have received overwhelming support & enthusiasm, since first announcing the race would take place this year. Many adaptations were made to the event in order to follow CDC guidelines and implement social distancing.

However, we recently became aware of some disapproval of the race being held this year. The purpose of JRFYR is to honor our son's memory, to raise much needed funds for foster children and to provide a fun, memorable family experience for our community & area families.

If the race is causing fear, anxiety and/or division within our community we can not effectively serve our purpose. This world is already filled with enough fear & division and we do not wish to add to it.

So, it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to cancel this year's JRFYR.

Although we have a no refund policy, we are making an exception in light of the circumstances.  Please select from the two option below.  You have until July 26th to make your selection.  If no selection is made by that date, your registration will be donated.  (Option 1)

As always, thanks for your support!

Here Are Your Options:

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.  We truly appreciate any support you might be able to give to this event to celebrate Jordan’s love of life and to help make a difference in the lives of foster children.

We understand. We hope you can join us next time.

About the JRFYR:

This race is held in memory of Jordan Rahn who passed away, unexpectedly, at the age of 19 while playing football with friends. Jordan had a heart condition known as Cardiomyopathy. He was a fun-loving, competitive-natured young man with a wonderful sense of humor which drew people to him, and he was passionate about life.

In his youth, Jordan participated in several 5K/1 Mile Runs. He even ran the entire BIX 7 at the age of 9! But, perhaps the thing that Jordan was best at was being an awesome “big” brother to the many foster children that were in his home through the years.

Race Proceeds:

In honor of Jordan’s love of foster children, all race proceeds will be donated to non-profit organizations to benefit the local foster care community.

Packet Pick Up:

Pick up your race packet Friday, August 21st, from 4 - 6 PM or Saturday, August 22, beginning at 6:30 AM at Veterans/ Memorial Park in Atkinson, IL. Please stay tuned for updates, changes, and additional information as the race date approaches.

Post Race Party:
Live music by Jef Spradley // 1 Free Drink for Participants 21+
