**Why participate in the Sweetcorn Activities
The Chatham Jaycees extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of our
organization and for celebrating 50 years of the Chatham Jaycees Sweet Corn Festival with us!
From our first festival in 1973 to our milestone 50th festival in 2025, our community has stood
beside us, making this event a beloved summer tradition in the Village of Chatham. What began
as a small, one-block celebration near the Village Square has grown into a full-scale event
encompassing all of Community Park—none of which would be possible without the incredible
support of our sponsors, vendors, attendees, and friends.
Over the years, the Sweet Corn Festival has become the primary source of funding for the
Jaycees’ community initiatives. One of the most impactful programs made possible by SCF is
the annual Clothes for Kids Program. In partnership with St. John’s Lutheran Church of
Chatham, Meijer, and the Ball-Chatham School District, we organize an annual shopping trip
to provide children in need with new winter clothing. Each child is paired with a volunteer from
the Jaycees, St. John’s Lutheran Church, or the local community, ensuring they receive boots,
coats, hats, gloves, and other essentials—while also allowing them to select their own styles. In
2024 alone, the Clothes for Kids program provided new wardrobes for 65 children, restocked
emergency clothing supplies for three school nurses, and distributed essential self-care
items to children and school staff.
The Chatham Jaycees are a 100% volunteer-driven organization, and SCF is no exception. Each
year, our club grows in number as community members and like-minded organizations come
together to make the "World’s Greatest Festival in the World" a reality. For decades, SCF has
been supported by the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, local Scout troops, the Civil Air
Patrol, Chatham Police, Chatham Fire, the Village of Chatham, St. John’s Lutheran
Church, the Chatham Library, multiple youth sports teams, Glenwood High School
Football, the Chatham American Legion and VFW, numerous school groups, and countless
volunteers.
At the heart of the Chatham Jaycees is our belief that "service to humanity is the best work of
life." Everything we accomplish and give back to the community is a direct result of you—our
supporters, partners, and friends.
We are eternally grateful for your support and look forward to another unforgettable Chatham
Jaycees Sweet Corn Festival—the summer weekend where everyone is a Chatham Jaycee!
With gratitude,
The Chatham Jaycees
